man

William Egerter Sr.

A shipwright and cabinet maker by trade, William Egerter Sr. left his mark on our illustrious town. Willy carefully crafted and built numerous homes for his family in Point Pleasant Beach. He built the Broadway Restaurant, Bogan's Basin Diner, and tackle shops alike. Willy converted many military boats into fishing boats allowing these vessels to withstand the demands of party and commercial boat fishing.

Recognized for his many talents, William Egerter Sr. became a dock master and managed the maintenance at both Broadway Basin in Point Pleasant Beach and at Bogan's Basin in Brielle. Willy was a constant at many of the Jersey Shore docks. Known for his famous "Willy Sticks", he built rental rods for many of the local boats. William Egerter Sr. took great pride in his work and will forever be remembered as a loving, talented, and hard working man.

man

Captain William Egerter Jr.

Becoming a Captain in 1956, William Egerter Jr. learned the trade from his uncle and mentor Captain James Bogan Sr. (of the Paramount).  "The Falcon" was Captain William Egerter Jr.'s first boat.  In 1956 the 48' wooden boat sailed daily out of Broadway Basin in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey.  Captain Willy Jr. acquired the first Dauntless in 1958 and had the current  Dauntless built in 1974.  Our 85' aluminum boat was the first of its kind to sail out of Point Pleasant Beach. To this day fishermen travel far and wide for the love and joy of fishing, and the ability to fill their freezers to support and feed their families.  Always happy to converse with customers, Captain Willy Jr. is an intrical figure at Broadway Basin.

man

Captain William Egerter III

No one navigates the Jersey Shore bottom fishing wrecks better than Captain William Egerter III. Learning from the professionals, “Captain Butch” spent much of his childhood assisting his grandfather with rod construction and working with his father learning the trade. At the age of eighteen, Butch got his captain's license and since has mentored and trained many other local boat captains.

man

Captain Steve Huey

For many years Captain Steve Huey was an amazing mate on the Dauntless. His love for fishing inspired him to get his captain's license. With over twenty years experience, Captain Steve enjoys targeting the best seasonal catches only the Jersey Shore, The Dauntless, and its Captains can offer.
